My Printer Stopped Working After a Firmware Update

Find the applicable scenario below. If you do not see an option that fits your situation, contact Support. Please note these fixes apply to the Ultimaker 2, Ultimaker 2+, Ultimaker 2 Go, Ultimaker 2 Extended, Ultimaker 2 Extended+, and Ultimaker Original+ printers. Because the Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker 3 Extended printers take their firmware update from the Olimex board, there's no way to accidentally install the wrong firmware update.

I have an Ultimaker 2 or Ultimaker 2+ and the bed crashes into the nozzle.

Most likely, firmware for an Extended model was loaded onto your regular sized machine. Because the Extended is taller, the bed is set to rise higher. If your bed has crashed into your nozzle, you will want to look for damage on the nozzle tip. Reload the firmware making sure "Ultimaker2" or "Ultimaker2+" (and not the Extended) is selected as the machine in Cura.

I have an Ultimaker 2 or Ultimaker 2 Extended and I can't load filament because the feeder motor is spinning in the wrong direction.

Most likely, firmware for an Ultimaker 2+ or Ultimaker 2 Extended+  was loaded onto your machine. Because the feeder is designed differently on the + models, the motor spins in the opposite direction in order to feed filament. Reload the firmware making sure that "Ultimaker2" or "Ultimaker2 Extended" is selected as the machine in Cura.

I have an Ultimaker 2+ or Ultimaker 2 Extended+ and I can't load filament because the feeder motor is spinning in the wrong direction.

Most likely, firmware for an Ultimaker 2 or Ultimaker 2 Extended (not +) was loaded onto your machine. Because the feeder is designed differently on the + models, the motor spins in the opposite direction in order to feed filament. Reload the firmware making sure that "Ultimaker2+" or "Ultimaker2+ Extended"  is selected as the machine in Cura.

I have an Ultimaker 2 Go and I'm getting a Temp Sensor-Bed error message.

Most likely, firmware for a full-sized machine was loaded onto your 2Go. Firmware for a full-sized machine expects a sensor for a heated bed. Since the 2Go does not have a heated bed, the printer thinks there's a problem with the electronics. Reload the firmware making sure that "Ultimaker 2 Go" is selected as the machine in Cura.

I have a Ultimaker 2 series printer (any model) and the head homes to the wrong corner.

Most likely, firmware for an Ultimaker Original/ Ultimaker Original + was loaded onto your printer. Reload the firmware making sure you select the applicable "Ultimaker2" model in Cura.

I have an Ultimaker Original/Ultimaker Original+ and the head homes to the wrong corner.

Most likely, firmware for an Ultimaker2 was loaded onto your machine. Reload the firmware making sure to select the applicable "Ultimaker Original" model in Cura.
